The EOP Student Body 

Our EOP student body represents students who meet all three of the following criteria: 

• California Resident and 
• First Generation to College Student (Neither parent has obtained a degree from a 4-year university in the U.S.) and
• Low Income EFC 

If a student does not meet all three of the previously stated criteria, but wish to participate in EOP, they must have participated in any one of the programs listed:

• California Dream Act recipient
• California Community College EOPS Program participant 
• UCSC Baskin Engineering Excellence Scholars Program (BEES) participant
• UCSC Black Academy participant 
• UCSC Black Men’s Initiative (BMI) participant
• UCSC Renaissance Scholars participant
  • Hope Scholars 
  • Independent Student
  • Underground Scholars

EOP Status is typically granted during the UC application process, however, students can apply to be considered for participation in the program by submitting an appeal.
