One of the ways you can ease the stressfulness of the application process is to become familiar with the five basic components to the application.  Keep in mind the Letters of Recommendation and Statement of Purpose continue to be an integral part of your application and are heavily weighed in assessing you as a strong candidate.

  1. Application form
  2. Transcripts and Evaluations*
  3. Letters of Recommendation
  4. Curriculum Vitae (CV, also known as your academic resume)
  5. Statement of Purpose
  6. Graduate/Professional Exams
  7. Fee Waivers

As you begin your application use the provided Application Checklist to organize yourself.  For more information, please be sure to visit the Career Center.  They provide an abudance of valuable information.

*An important note- Transfer students must request transcripts from all institutions whose courses were used to fulfill any general education or major requirement(s) for UCSC.  Contact the graduate department that you are applying to for specific transfer requirements.
