EOP Appeals Process

If you are uncertain of your EOP status, please do the following:

TO CHECK EOP STATUS:
  1. Go to My.ucsc.edu; enter password
  2. Click On: Academic Progress;
  3. Click On: Student Advising Summary;
  4. Open Tab: Milestones / Group;
  5. Under Student Groups: Look for Educational Opportunity Programs.

If you are not an EOP student and would like to be considered for the program, please do the following:

  1. Check and see if you meet the requirements for EOP status.
  2. If you do meet all the requirements, download and fill out the appeal form found here.
  3. Get a copy of your Financial Aid Award Letter.
  4. Drop off your EOP appeal form and Financial Aid Award Letter to the EOP office (121 ARCenter near the Performing Arts & the McHenry Library).

 

IMPORTANT DEADLINES for SUBMITTING APPEALS

FALL QUARTER: All students (new freshman, new transfer, and continuing students) may submit an appeal application.
WINTER QUARTER: Only Winter quarter new freshman and new transfer students may submit an appeal application. Appeal applications submitted by continuing students and new fall quarter freshman and fall quarter transfer students will not be accepted.
SPRING QUARTER: No appeal applications are accepted during spring quarter.

Appeals will be accepted and reviewed during the first two weeks of each month (Fall and Winter quarters). Your appeal will be reviewed by a committee, composed of EOP staff, and then forwarded to the Director of EOP for final approval. You can expect to receive a written response by the end of the month in which you submit your appeal.
